Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OwnIt processes personal data when you use the OwnIt website and product. It is a production-quality draft and may require legal review before public launch.

Who we are

OwnIt is the operator of this product. We do not list a registered company number or office address in this policy because those values are not verified in the product configuration.

Data we process

• Account information: name, email address, hashed password, role (investor, franchise, or admin), and email verification state.
• Investor profile data: city, age, bio, budget range, sector interests, preferred locations, franchise model preference, timeline, and optional return targets.
• Franchise listing data: brand details, opportunity copy, investment range, franchise fee, royalty, space requirement, support offered, model, location, uploaded cover images, and verification documents such as licence files and GST/FSSAI/registration numbers you submit.
• Messages and Deal Room activity: inbox messages, interest requests, Deal Room stage, next actions, meeting details, and shared notes.
• Analytics and product events: in-product events used to operate dashboards and admin analytics. These stay inside OwnIt and are not sent to an external analytics vendor in the current product.
• Notification preferences: which in-app and email alerts you choose to receive.
• Support and safety: support tickets and user-submitted reports, including optional explanations.

How we use data

We use this information to create accounts, match investors and listings, show Deal Rooms, send verification and notification emails, moderate listings, and operate admin review queues. We do not sell personal data.

Sharing

Other marketplace users see the profile or listing information you make visible. Admins see reports, support tickets, and listings submitted for review. Email is sent through the mailer configured for OwnIt. File uploads use the storage disk configured for the application.

Retention

We keep account, conversation, and Deal Room records while they are needed to operate the marketplace and preserve referential history. Hard deletion of accounts is not offered in this beta for that reason.

Your choices

You can update profile and listing fields, change email (which resets verification), change password, and adjust notification preferences. You can contact OwnIt through the Support form to ask questions about your data.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed. Changing email requires your current password. We do not claim a specific certification in this policy.
